Former Northwestern and current Green Pay Packers defensive lineman Dean Lowry was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last Sunday against the Buccaneers.

In Green Bay’s 26-20 overtime victory, Lowry recorded a sack and returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown. It was his first career TD and marked the longest fumble return for a TD by the Packers since 1998.

A fourth-round draft pick out of Northwestern in 2016, Lowry is the first player to win the award for Green Bay this season. It’s also the first of his career.
