Former OL for the Northwestern Wildcats had an outstanding debut for the Los Angeles Chargers in week 1 of the NFL Preseason.

The No. 13 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft shined for the Chargers against the Los Angeles Rams Saturday night. According to PFF.com, he had 12 pass-blocking snaps, 86.0 PFF pass-blocking grade and 0 pressures allowed.

The Chargers ended up winning the game 13-6 against the Los Angeles Rams in the gorgeous new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

Slater was not the only former B1G OL to get some love Saturday night for the Chargers. Brenden Jaimes, the 2021 5th round pick out of Nebraska, had a nice block with Slater getting into the second level. You can see the video below.

Last season the Los Angeles Chargers finished the year third in the AFC West division with a record of 7-9.

The Chargers this season open up at the Washington Football Team Sunday, Sept. 12.
