Former Northwestern QB Mike Kafka is about to start his next coaching gig. He’ll be the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 2022, and is ready to go per Michael Eisen of

Following his playing days, Kafka returned to Northwestern as an offensive graduate assistant in 2016. His NFL assistant coaching debut started with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 an offensive quality control coach. Since then, he has taken on roles like QB coach and passing game coordinator.

The former Wildcats QB can’t wait for the 2022 season to get started. It looks like he already has the right mindset going into it.

“I look at it as an opportunity,” Kafka said. “An opportunity not only for myself, but for the players. Everyone out there is working hard to make the team and show what they can do and show that they can build themselves a role. So, I’m looking to go out and do my job to the best of my ability and put the guys in the best position to be successful and show what they can do.”

Northwestern fans can watch Kafka’s 1st game as OC against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 11 at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.
