Here's what Pat Fitzgerald said after Northwestern's loss to Michigan
Northwestern fell to 3-4, 1-3 in B1G play today as they went up to Ann Arbor, MI., and got trounced by No. 6 Michigan 33-7.
Head coach Pat Fitzgerald spoke to the media after the loss.
Fitzgerald talked about the newest B1G trophy game, the George Jewett trophy, the first trophy to be named after an African American in the B1G, he played for both schools.
Fitz starts the postgame presser by saying how much of an honor it was to compete for the George Jewett trophy today.

Fitzgerald talked about Michigan being able to capitalize on Northwestern’s miscues.
“They were able to take advantage of our misfortunes — not being able to protect the punt, not tackling well.” Fitz on Michigan’s performance today.

Fitz talked about the growth of his team.
“There’s a lot of growth going on, even if it’s not showing up in the result. A lot of young guys out there getting experience, but they’ll get better because they care.” — Fitz on the team’s progress made in this game.

Fitz talked about the Michigan running game.

Fitz talked about the environment of the Big House and how it did not affect his players.
“I knew our guys would not be intimidated by ranking or stadium. Older guys did a really good job talking to our younger guys throughout the week. We just need to win, on snaps and on series, and we didn’t do that today.” — Fitz.
