The Northwestern Wildcats have gotten off to a good start versus the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at home thanks to a huge play near the middle of the first quarter. Northwestern quarterback Ryan Hilinski delivered a quick post route to wide receiver Malik Washington.

After the catch, Washington quickly burst through the secondary as he was ready to meet Rutgers linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams in a pursuit angle.

Washington, who is 5-foot-9, 192 pounds delivered a big hit and overpowered the 6’2, 235-pound defender and burst forward for a 64-yard touchdown for Northwestern.

The touchdown drive for Northwestern lasted only five plays, 98-yards, and took 2:19 minutes to score. N
