Pat Fitzgerald has things cooking at Northwestern in a way that hasn’t happened in 80 years.
The Wildcats capped their regular season with a win over in-state rival Illinois 24-16. That win pushed Northwestern to 8-4, the fourth straight year with a winning record for Fitzgerald’s squad. Northwestern has also won at least eight games in three of the last four years.
According to the BTN Stats Guys, the stretch of four straight years with a winning record is Northwestern’s best streak since 1928-31. That streak ended more than 85 years ago.

With Fitzgerald at the helm, don’t look for that streak to change anytime soon.
