Julian Roper II announced Monday that after 2 years at Northwestern he will be entering the transfer portal to play elsewhere with his final 2 seasons of eligibility. The Northwestern shooting guard missed the back half of the season after reaggravating an ankle injury in early February against Michigan.

Roper’s numbers went down from the previous season before the injury, though he was still a solid rotational player for the Wildcats, especially on defense.

He wrote the following and posted it on social media Monday.

Roper scored a season-high 12 points against UIC in December and was looking like he was about to start becoming more of a factor on offense before his injury.

He’s likely to have a solid number of schools to choose from, including some Power 6 options. The Detroit, Michigan native will have a lot to decide on in the coming weeks and months.
