Forcing five turnovers, the Northwestern Wildcats topped the Wisconsin Badgers, 17-7, in Evanston on November 21.

With the win, the Wildcats moved up eight spots to No. 11 in the Associated Press Poll, while the Badgers dropped eight slots to No. 19.

One of the driving forces for Northwestern was senior linebacker Blake Gallagher, who tallied 14 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

For this showing, Gallagher was named the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week, which is awarded for the nation’s top defensive performance.

A graduate of St. Sebastian’s, a Catholic, all-boys school in Needham, Massachusetts, Gallagher has appeared in 42 games over his Wildcat career, recording 296 tackles (17.5 for loss), five interceptions, two fumble recoveries, two sacks and the forced fumble.

One of just two unbeaten teams in the Big Ten Conference, with the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) being the other, Northwestern (5-0) will visit East Lansing to battle the Michigan State Spartans (1-3) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on ESPN2.
