After an impressive opening weekend to the NCAA Softball Tournament, the Super Regional matchup is set for Northwestern. The Wildcats are hoping to carry the momentum into the next round.
Northwestern opened the Evanston Regional on Friday with a 9-2 victory over Oakland. The Wildcats then posted an impressive a 17-3 win over McNeese State on Saturday, followed by a 10-2 victory on Sunday. Both games against McNeese State were decided in the 5th inning.
This weekend, Northwestern will head to Tempe for the Super Regional to play Arizona State. The first game is set for Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m. ET with broadcast coverage set for ESPNU. Below is the full schedule for the Wildcats:
- Game 1: Northwestern vs. Arizona State — Friday, May 27 (8 p.m. ET, ESPNU)
- Game 2: Northwestern vs. Arizona State — Saturday, May 28 (11 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
- Game 3 (if necessary): Northwestern vs. Arizona State — Sunday, May 29 (TBD)
Northwestern is 43-10 this season and has yet to lose a game in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats ended the B1G regular season as the top team in the league with a 19-4 record.
