Northwestern is adding a little West Coast flavor to its 2022 recruiting class.

The Wildcats received a verbal commitment from Braydon Brus, a native of Glendora, California. The 3-star athlete made his announcement with a post on social media on Tuesday morning. He became the fifth player to pledge to Northwestern in the 2022 class.

“Growing up watching Big Ten football every Saturday makes this literally a dream come true,” Brus wrote on Twitter. “With that being said, I’d like to announce my commitment to Northwestern University. I’m honored to play for a top 10 school and a top 10 football program. Go Cats!”

Brus is rated as the No. 60 overall player out of California and the No. 74 athlete in the class, per 247Sports. His announcement comes after a June 4 visit to Evanston.

There 15 programs to offer Brus. The 3-star talent picked Northwestern over Power 5 offers from Cal, Colorado, Arizona, Boston College, Michigan State, UCLA and Washington State.

Northwestern’s recruiting class ranks 44th nationally and 9th in the B1G.
