According to college football insider Brett McMurphy, it appears that the Northwestern Wildcats will be attending the Holiday Bowl.

In McMurphy’s report, it seemed like the Holdiay Bowl wanted to bypass the 9-3 Wildcats in favor for the 7-5 Iowa Hawkeyes. However, B1G commissioner Jim Delany contacted the bowl to express his thoughts about the bowl bypassing a team with two fewer wins, and basically stating he disapproved of the idea.

However, the conference doesn’t have any requirements prohibiting bowls from skipping a team with one more win than another school.

If Northwestern does in fact play in the Holiday Bowl, it will be the Wildcats first bowl game in California since 1995 Rose Bowl.
