Northwestern basketball has picked up a transfer from the portal. UTEP forward Tydus J. Verhoeven announced his commitment to the Wildcats Thursday on his Twitter account.

It will be Verhoeven’s second time transferring. He began his college basketball at Dequense in the 2017-18 season. Verhoeven transferred to UTEP, sitting out the Miners’ 2018-19 season.

This past season, Verhoeven played in 31 games, including making 28 starts, contributing 6.6 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 1.0 blocks per game. With those numbers, he was led the team in blocks per game and total rebounds. As a 50.9% shooter, he was second on the Miners.
