Pat Fitzgerald reflects on Northwestern's regular season, going undefeated in B1G West
While many struggled, Northwestern thrived with the logistical challenges this season provided.
The Wildcats turned in a 6-1 season and will be returning to the Big Ten Championship Game for the second time in three years.
After Northwestern’s 28-10 win over Illinois, coach Pat Fitzgerald reflected on the regular season and what his team has accomplished so far.
“It’s been a great season for us,” Fitzgerald said on Saturday. “We obviously stubbed our toe one time but the rest of the year these guys have been resilient. They’ve been through a ton. Our entire football program has been through a ton. To go undefeated in the West again is something we take great pride in.”

If not for an upset loss to Michigan State a couple weeks ago, Northwestern would be in the mix for a College Football Playoff berth.
Kickoff for the Big Ten Championship Game is on Dec. 19 at 12 p.m. ET.
