Northwestern DL sets new school record for sacks in a career against Minnesota
Northwestern’s Joe Gaziano has had a very productive career. The defensive lineman piled up 16.5 sacks in his sophomore and junior seasons combined, and in his senior year, Gaziano had 6.5 coming into the team’s 11th game — a game against Minnesota.

Against the Gophers, Gaziano didn’t necessarily take down QB Tanner Morgan to record a sack. But, he did force an intentional grounding that registered as a sack. The play also resulted in a Minnesota safety:

As noted by BTN, Gaziano’s sack puts him at 28.5 for his career, which is now atop the record books at Northwestern. This, of course, is quite the accomplishment.
