Northwestern DL signs NIL deal with WWE as part of inaugural class

A Northwestern defensive lineman is signing an NIL deal with WWE as part of its inaugural class. Senior Joe Spivak is joining the WWE according to its recruiting account on Twitter:

The menacing 6-foot, 300-pound Spivak amassed five solo tackles this season. Spivak, a native of Darien, Illinois, has amassed 31 total tackles and 1.5 sacks during his four seasons at Northwestern.

In 2021, Spivak was named to the Goodworks Team, Wuerffel Trophy Watch List , and voted team captain. During the 2020 seas0n, Spivak earned 2020 Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Team honors.

As a sophomore in 2018, Spivak was selected as an Academic All-B1G selection. Spivak was a three-year varsity team captain in high school, guiding Montini to the state finals three times in four seasons. Spivak’s dad Joe was an All-American for Illinois State University, under Northwestern superbacks coach Bob Heffner
