Northwestern edges multiple Power 5 programs for 4-star PG out of Massachusetts

Per his 247Sports composite ranking, Brumbaugh is considered the 2nd best player in Massachusetts and the 10th best point guard in the country. In terms of any position, he’s listed as the 86th best player in the nation.
After he announced his commitment, he spoke to Dushawn London of 247Sports on why he chose the Wildcats:
“I’m going to be betting on myself and going to Northwestern,” he said. “I’ve always been that type of kid who goes against what’s the “right way.” With these super sexy high majors like Kansas and Texas, I feel like I’m good enough to put a program like Northwestern on the map and really build a program like that up.”
Brumbaugh will try and help turn around a Wildcats program that has been stuck in the mud for the last 2 years. For this past season, they finished 12th in the B1G (9-15 overall record, 6-13 in the B1G). As for 2019-20, they finished 8-23 overall and lost 17 of 20 conference games.
