Northwestern reserve forward Elyjah Williams has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft. He made his announcement with a social media post on Friday afternoon.

Williams appeared in 29 games for the Wildcats in 2021-22 and made 1 start. The 6-foot-7 reserve forward averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in his lone season in Evanston. He logged just under 13 minutes per game.

“I am announcing my intentions to continue playing basketball at the highest level and pursue my dream by entering my name into the NBA Draft,” he wrote.

Williams concluded his college career this past season with the Wildcats. He spent the first four years at Fairleigh Dickinson. In that four-year span, he appeared in 116 games and made 74 starts.

The best season at Fairleigh Dickinson for Williams came in 2020-21, when he averaged 13.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest. Those were both high-water marks for the 6-foot-7 forward.

Over the course of his five-year college career, Williams scored 1,146 points, collected 745 rebounds and blocked 127 shots. He shot better than 56% from the floor during his time at Fairleigh Dickinson and Northwestern, as well.
