Northwestern’s 2021 recruiting class has received a second pledge.

On Tuesday, the Widlcats received a verbal commitment from three-star offensive guard Josh Thompson. The native of Fenton, Michigan announced his commitment via Twitter.

“It’s been an incredible journey so far and I’m looking forward to an amazing senior year,” Thompson wrote. “So without further ado, I’m blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University.”

Thompson is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman who received seven additional offers outside of Northwestern. Other interested programs included Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Western Michigan.

Per 247Sports, Thompson ranks as one of the top 50 offensive guards in this cycle and is the No. 38 player from the state of Michigan. He joins three-star athlete Donnie Gray in Northwestern’s 2021 class.
