Since the strong start in Dublin, the season for the Northwestern Wildcats has been disastrous. The Wildcats have had three straight home games and three straight losses to go with it.

Northwestern has been defeated by Duke, Southern Illinois and Miami (OH). The latter two schools they have paid to come play to get a win in what is called a “buy” game. Since you know, you’re supposed to be buying a win.

Here’s how much the Wildcats have spent on teams this season for them to come to Ryan Field and beat them.

Northwestern is 0-3 in nonconference play, and the Wildcats are 1-0 in B1G play. That was probably unfathomable to Northwestern fans to start the season after the win in Ireland.

The Wildcats now have a full B1G slate the rest of the way and we will see what head coach Pat Fitzgerald will do to try and turn the season around.

Northwestern hits the road this week for a date with No. 14 Penn State as they look to right the ship. Kickoff is at 3:30 ET on ABC or ESPN.
