Northwestern just got a signee from Connecticut.

Linebacker Kenny Soares announced that he’ll be joining the Northwestern Football team from his Twitter account on Wednesday. He is a 3-star linebacker from Avon Old Farms High School in New Canaan, Connecticut, per the 247Sports Composite. Soares is 6-foot-3, 215 pounds.

He picked the Wildcats over some Power 5 programs, including some from the B1G. Soares also got looked at by Colorado, Army, Indiana, Maryland, Penn State, and Rutgers.

Soares is the 3rd-ranked player from the state of Connecticut, and the 73rd-best player at his position. He is also rated as the 724th overall ranked recruit in the class of 2022.
