Northwestern lands transfer linebacker from Pitt
The transfer portal has been busy on Monday as teams prep for early signing day and bowl season. We have some high-profile players from all over the country entering their names into the portal and movement all-around. Northwestern landed a transfer from Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon.
Linebacker Wendell Davis Jr. is headed to Evanston to play for Northwestern in the 2022 season.

For the Panthers this season, Davis appeared in 8 games while making 3 starts. He recorded 27 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and a sack. He’ll have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Davis entered the transfer portal on Nov. 3 after a 38-34 home loss to Miami on Oct. 30. Pitt went 11-2, won the ACC this season, and will play No. 10 Michigan State in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30 at 7:00 ET on ESPN.
Northwestern had an abysmal year defensively, giving up 29 points per game and sliding to a 3-9 record overall and 1-8 in B1G play. The Wildcats are just a year removed from a B1G West title and B1G Championship appearance.
Northwestern opens the season next year against B1G opponent Nebraska in Dublin, Ireland, on Aug. 27.
