Northwestern has added another member to its 2022 recruiting class.

Thursday, the Wildcats picked up a verbal commitment from 3-star offensive tackle Nick Herzog out of Stillwell, Kansas. He becomes the fourth player of the cycle to pledge to Northwestern, picking Pat Fitzgerald and company over offers from nine other programs.

“I’m grateful for the foundation and support that my parents have provided me; without their help this process would’ve proved to be much more difficult,” Herzog wrote. “Lastly, thank you to my friends, family, and community for the constant support throughout this journey. With that said, I’m excited to announce my commitment to the Northwestern Wildcats.”

According to 247Sports, Herzog ranks as the No. 56 offensive tackle prospect in the class and is the No. 4 player from Kansas. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound lineman is a two-sport athlete at the high school level, also a member of the wrestling team.

The Wildcats beat Iowa, Kansas State, Stanford, Kansas, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Princeton, Vanderbilt and Virginia for Herzog’s pledge.

Northwestern’s 2022 recruiting class currently ranks No. 9 in the B1G and No. 44 in the nation.
