Northwestern has named four captains for its season opener vs Maryland on Saturday.

Quarterback Peyton Ramsey, linebacker Paddy Fisher, offensive lineman Nik Urban and defensive back JR Pace will lead the Wildcats vs. the Terrapins, per the program’s Twitter account.

Fisher, Urban and Pace are all seniors who have spent their entire careers with Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern. Ramsey is a grad transfer from Indiana, where he was also a captain last season.

Fisher was a captain for the Wildcats a year ago, and is a preseason All-American according to Athlon Sports. His 89 tackles a season ago were good enough for second on the team.

Urban was also a standout performer last season, helping the Wildcats’ rushing attack to a fourth-place finish in the Big Ten last season with 180 yards per game.

Pace is one of the most experienced defensive backs in the country, racking up 26 starts over the past two seasons. In his career with Northwestern, he has seven interceptions, 19 pass deflections and a fumble recovery.

Ramsey comes to Northwestern after a successful career at Indiana. In three seasons for the Hoosiers, Ramsey completed 66.5 percent of his passes and scored 42 touchdowns compared to 23 interceptions. He also rushed for 832 yards and 14 more touchdowns on 300 attempts.

Northwestern’s game vs Maryland is slated to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Big Ten Network will have the broadcast.
