It’s official, Peyton Ramsey and Derek Adams are on the Northwestern football roster.

On Tuesday, the school released a statement saying that both players have officially been added to the 2020 roster. Ramsey is a graduate transfer quarterback from Indiana who is looking to aid the Wildcats’ passing attack, which suffered mightily last season. Adams is a grad transfer punter from Kent State.

Both Ramsey and Adams will be immediately eligible for the 2020 season as graduate transfers. Both also have one season of eligibility remaining.

Ramsey was a multi-year starting quarterback at Indiana and helped lead the Hoosiers to one of their best seasons in 25 years. IU finished 8-5 and appeared in the Gator Bowl in 2019, with Ramsey throwing for 2,454 yards and 13 touchdowns while completing 68 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 252 yards and seven scores.

In three years at Indiana, Ramsey totaled 6,581 passing yards and rushed for 832 yards. He accounted for 56 total touchdowns, as well.

Adams appeared in 41 career games as a punter at Kent State over the last four seasons. He was a three-year starter with the Golden Flashes and a two-time All-MAC selection. In 2019, he averaged 43.1 yards per punt and pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line on 20 of 59 attempts.

For his career, Adams averages 41.7 yards per punt. His career long is 77 yards, which came in 2017 against Akron.

Northwestern finished the 2019 campaign with a 3-9 record.
