Michigan State has an incredible defense. Offensively, different story.

But, up front especially on defense, the Spartans are strong. SEC strong. NFL strong even.

OK, that last one might be pushing it, but Northwestern faces Michigan State this Saturday and Wildcats offensive line coach — Kurt Anderson — has spent time in the NFL. He’s seen NFL fronts. He’s seen SEC fronts, too.

Anderson has seen it all. And ahead of the game against the Spartans, he talked about their front:

“It’s gonna pose an unbelievable challenge,” he said. “I’ve coached in the NFL, I’ve coached in the SEC. This is a front that rivals some of the best that I’ve seen. They’re powerful up front, they’re heavy, they got guys that can get on the edge in terms of pass rushers.”

Anderson didn’t exactly compare Michigan State’s DL to an NFL DL. But, he knows what his offensive line is going to go up against.

It’s going against arguably the best front in college football and we can’t wait to see how the battle in the trenches — and in general — goes.

Michigan State-Northwestern is scheduled for a noon ET kickoff on Saturday at Ryan Field. The game will be televised on ABC.
