Northwestern players enthusiastically react to David Braun being named full-time HC
David Braun is the next head coach of Northwestern football and it’s safe to say that the players loved the decision.
The news was reported on Wednesday and Braun was officially announced as HC in front of the players.
Braun said he wouldn’t have been the in position to contend for the job if it weren’t for the players. He praised the players who decided to stay at the program after the recent scandal involving former HC Pat Fitzgerald.
“The opportunity that exists for myself and my family only exists because of you guys. You guys had a choice, everyone in this room had a choice,” said Braun. “Had a choice to turn and walk away from it or link arms and stare it down. This opportunity is a reflection of everything we have done together.”

Northwestern is 5-5 and in 2nd place in the B1G West under Braun’s guidance. The Wildcats have been led on offense by Cincinnati transfer quarterback Ben Bryant and running back Cam Porter on the ground.
Braun has helped lift the dark cloud that was over the Northwestern football program. It sounds like his players believe in him and would run through a brick wall if asked.
The Wildcats take on Purdue next. Kickoff will be Saturday at noon ET on BTN.
