Northwestern started the season with a 1-3 overall record.

Nothing seemed to look right. Quarterback Clayton Thorson was coming off an ACL injury and the Wildcats needed to start piling up wins quickly.

That’s exactly what they did.

Since starting 1-3, Northwestern has gone 5-1 and has already clinched its spot in the Big Ten title game. Part of the reason why is because of Thorson, surely, but freshman RB Isaiah Bowser as well.

Bowser, who became the main back on Oct. 20, has played in 4 games since that point. He’s rushed for 483 yards and 4 TD. The 6-foot-1 play-maker from Sidney, Ohio impressed Thorson all the way back in training camp, and the senior QB knew he’d get touches this season one way or another.

Thorson talked with Mike Hall of Big Ten Network about Bowser, among other things.

Note: Thorson starts talking about Bowser at around 3:00
