Northwestern QB T.J. Green leaves game with injury
Pat Fitzgerald played both Hunter Johnson and T.J. Green in the first half of Northwestern’s season opener against Stanford, but now the Wildcats are down to just one of those guys.
Early in the third quarter, Green took a couple hit from Stanford defenders close to the goal line and stayed on the ground for a while after taking the shots. He was then helped off the field and made his way back to the locker room.
According to Bruce Feldman, the sideline reporter for Saturday’s game, Green will miss the remainder of the game. He is reportedly undergoing X-rays for a lower leg injury and will not return to the contest.

Green left the game after completing 6-of-10 passes for 62 yards and rushing for an additional 10 yards on three carries. He had one fumble.
When Green left the game, Northwestern was trailing Stanford 10-0. He came in in relief of Johnson, who started the game for the Wildcats.
