Northwestern reveals heartfelt thank you video for departing AD Jim Phillips
AD Jim Phillips is leaving Northwestern.
On Monday, it was officially announced that Phillips is leaving the Wildcats to become the next commissioner of the ACC. He leaves Northwestern after a sustained run of excellence and appears to be well poised for this next challenge.
Phillips took over as AD in the spring of 2008. Since that time, Phillips has embarked on an award-winning tenure of success for Wildcat athletics, both on and off the field.
It has been an impressive run, punctuated by the performance of the Wildcat football team under Pat Fitzgerald. Fitz was hired in 2006 prior to Phillips’ arrival, but it speaks volumes in this day and age that Phillips never had to hire a football coach during his 12 years in Evanston.
As he gets set to embark on this great opportunity, Northwestern Athletics put together a heartfelt thank you video. It is definitely worth your time.
