A signee in Northwestern’s 2023 recruiting class is looking to play elsewhere.

Chico Holt, a tight end from Houston, has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

A Strake Jesuit standout, Holt’s listed measurements are 6-5, 220 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Holt was rated 3-stars, the No. 34 tight end, No. 110 recruit in the state of Texas and No. 724 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.

Holt was highly sought-after during his recruitment. He collected scholarship offers from 22 schools, including Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Texas and Washington State. He took official visits to Northwestern, Michigan and Cal.

The NCAA opened a special 30-day undergraduate transfer portal window for Northwestern players after the school’s firing of head coach Pat Fitzgerald. Graduates cannot enter the transfer portal outside the designated windows for undergraduate entry.
