Northwestern updates depth chart, key receiver listed out for Purdue
Northwestern is eager to get back in the win column against Purdue.
After a dramatic 2018 season that featured a run to the B1G Championship Game, the wheels have fallen all the way off for the Wildcats in 2019. Last week’s blowout loss to Indiana dropped Northwestern to 1-7, effectively eliminating the Wildcats from bowl eligibility. It was a third straight game without a touchdown and a sixth straight loss.
Unfortunately, the offense will not be at full strength against Purdue. Northwestern Football tweeted out the updated depth chart for Week 11 on Friday, and WR J.J. Jefferson has been confirmed as out for the contest. He is third on the team with 12 catches and second in yardage, but Jefferson is the only WR to catch a touchdown pass for Northwestern this season. He has two.
In addition to Jefferson being out, RB Isaiah Bowser did not appear at all on the depth chart. It’s also worth noting that the QB position is listed as Aidan Smith “OR” Hunter Johnson as the starter.
Here’s the updated depth chart:
