Well, at least they tried.
Saturday evening, Northwestern’s basketball team pulled off a significant upset, defeating No. 20 Penn State 80-69 in Evanston. It was just the third B1G win of the season for the Wildcats, but a good way to end Senior Night for the program.
After the game, Northwestern students wanted to celebrate by storming the court — common when a struggling team takes down one of the top teams in the B1G. Unfortunately, though, the court storm was a touch on the sad side.
Don’t worry, there’s video below:
There aren’t many students here, but they stormed the court anyway. Well, sort of. pic.twitter.com/IZqTulsSdA

Yikes. Just a few bodies at midcourt before players decided to leave the floor. Not the best way to celebrate such a big win. But, at least they tried, right?
Northwestern is now 3-17 in the B1G and is 8-22 overall. The Wildcats are currently the No. 13 seed in the conference standings and will have a Day 1 game on Wednesday, March 11 in the B1G Tournament.
