Northwestern had a landmark day on the ground on Saturday against Illinois.
The Wildcats rushed for 411 yards in a 28-10 win over the Illini, their most in a game since 2003… when they also played Illinois.

Evan Hull was Northwestern’s leading rusher with 149 yards on just 13 carries. He also added a touchdown. However, Cam Porter was also dominant in this game as he rushed for 142 yards on 24 carries and two scores.
Now, Northwestern will turn its attention to the Big Ten Championship Game against Ohio State. These teams also met in the 2018 Big Ten Championship game, which OSU won 45-24.
Coach Pat Fitzgerald knows his players will have an uphill battle against the Buckeyes, even going as far as to joke about the point spread after the game on Saturday night.
That game kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 12 p.m. ET.
The rest of the Big Ten’s Championship Weekend matchups are expected to be announced on Sunday.
