Nothing but net: Play in Providence-Northwestern delayed due to odd malfunction
This is not the kind of equipment malfunction you want to have during a basketball game.
An often overlooked piece of basketball equipment, the net serves a valuable purpose. Unfortunately, the net in the Providence-Northwestern game caused a delay on Wednesday night.
Based on the video shared by BTN, it is hard to tell what the issue itself actually was. A member of Northwestern’s staff diligently works on the issue, though his choice of tape didn’t appear to be doing much of anything.

From the video, it is hard to tell if anything noticeable was affected by the efforts. However, the attempt to fix the net must have worked as the game hit halftime with Northwestern up 38-29.
Hopefully, the two teams can complete the game without further issues:
