On second thought: Northwestern switches up uniform combo for Wrigley Field game
Northwestern won’t be going with all-black look for Saturday’s game at Wrigley Field, after all. Instead, the Wildcats want to show off some of the purple.
Friday night, Northwestern’s social media team announced the Wildcats will hit the field with a different look than previously planned. Purple helmets and purple trousers will now be in the mix for Saturday’s game against Purdue.
The ‘Cats will still be sporting the black jerseys.

Northwestern is hoping this uniform combination will bring some good luck to Wrigley Field. Pat Fitzgerald’s team is currently in the middle of a 4-game losing streak. The Wildcats’ last win came against Rutgers on Oct. 16.
Northwestern has had recent success against Purdue, though. The Wildcats are winners of 6 of the last 7 meetings, with the lone victory for the Boilermakers coming in 2019. Northwestern won last year’s matchup 27-20 in West Lafayette.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET with the game airing on BTN.
