On the board: Hunter Johnson finds Trey Pugh for Northwestern's first TD
Northwestern gets on the board just before the half as they are down 21-7 against the Spartans.
QB Hunter Johnson throws a dart on 4th and goal from the 1-yard line finds Trey Pugh in the back of the end zone for the Wildcat’s first touchdown of the night.
Fourth and goal? @NUCoachJake got the goods.
How about that for a first career TD grab? #GoCats https://t.co/yZEUXLHMjX

It was Pugh’s first touchdown as Wildcat.
Johnson is 13-22 for 171 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions through one half of play.
Before that touchdown, the Spartans were rolling as RB Kenneth Walker III, a transfer from Wake Forest, started with two touchdowns in the first quarter to go up 14-0. Then QB Payton Thorne found RB Jordon Simmons on a screen for a touchdown making the score 21-0.
The Spartans last season upset the Wildcats 29-20. The Wildcats will receive the ball to start the second half.
