Not many freshman are equipped to start on the offensive line, especially in the B1G. But Northwestern’s Rashawn Slater proved he was the real deal this year.

Slater helped pave the way for running back Justin Jackson to run for 1,154 yards and nine touchdowns. And Slater’s blocking and performance helped earn the title of the best freshman offensive lineman in the nation according to Pro Football Focus.

Like Northwestern’s tweet says, Slater’s future is bright. If he can continues to be the blocker he showed this season, expect the Wildcats to produce good backs.

Slater was named a Freshman All-American by 247 Sports as well.
