As fans wait to find out the revised B1G schedule for 2021, with an announcement set for Friday afternoon, one report indicates the Wildcats are expected to get a conference game at Wrigley Field.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Northwestern is expected to play its home game against Purdue inside Wrigley Field for the upcoming season. That would mark Northwestern’s first game at the traditional baseball venue since 2010.

It would be a nice addition to Northwestern’s schedule since the Wildcats missed out on playing at Wrigley in 2020. The game that was originally scheduled there against Wisconsin was relocated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Wildcats have not played at Wrigley since 2010, but they signed an agreement with the Chicago Cubs in 2018 that will include additional games in the future at the Friendly Confines.

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the 2021 schedule looks like. Stay tuned to Saturday Tradition for that release later on Friday.
