Tempe Super Regional Game 3: Northwestern softball vs. Arizona State for spot in Women's College World Series
Northwestern needs 1 win to lock up the last spot in the Women’s College World Series. The Wildcats are in the Tempe Super Regional, taking on No. 8 Arizona State. The best-of-3 series will be decided Sunday evening.
Northwestern took the series opener in extra innings Friday. The Sun Devils bounced back Saturday to win 7-4, evening the series. Sunday’s rubber match is set for 8:30 p.m. CT/9:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Northwestern is making its sixth NCAA Super Regional appearance, all under the Drohans, and is seeking its third trip to the WCWS. The Wildcats won the Evanston Regional in 3 games to reach the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals. NU is 44-11 overall in 2022.
Entering Sunday, 6 teams already punched their tickets to the WCWS in Oklahoma City: Oklahoma, UCLA, Texas, Oregon State, Oklahoma State and Arizona. No. 3 seed Virginia Tech and No. 14 seed Florida are also playing a decisive Game 3 in the Blacksburg Super Regional Sunday afternoon.
