Northwestern’s 2022 recruiting class has received its sixth commitment of the cycle.

The Wildcats received a verbal pledge from 3-star defensive back Devin Turner, a native of Frisco, Texas. He is the third player to commit to Northwestern this month, joining 3-star athlete Braydon Brus and 3-star offensive tackle Nick Herzog.

An announcement on Turner’s decision was made via Twitter.

Turner is listed as a 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety out of Texas, per 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 65 player at his position in the class and one of the Top 150 players out of the talent-filled state.

Multiple Power 5 programs expressed interest in Turner. Northwestern beat offers from Arizona, Colorado, Duke, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Washington State for the safety’s commitment.

Turner took an official visit to Northwestern on June 18, making his pledge just a few days later. He also had a June 11 trip to Arizona.

Northwestern’s 2022 class is currently ranked at No. 46 nationally and No. 11 in the B1G.
