It’s not often you see a wide receiver this wide open.

Northwestern is coming off a tough loss to Michigan last weekend, but the Wildcats are starting strong once again. The defense limited Michigan State to a lone field goal in the first quarter before the offense came alive.

It all started with this play that fooled the Spartans’ defense. Kyric McGowan cut out and up the sideline and past the entire secondary. No one covered the speedster, and QB Clayton Thorson made sure he didn’t miss on the throw.

Thorson hit McGowan over the top for a beautiful play that went for 77 yards and a touchdown to give the Wildcats an early lead. Northwestern on BTN shared the video of the deep pass:
