Nobody wanted to take a chance on Austin Carr.
But when the former Northwestern receiver was still available at the end of the NFL Draft, the New England Patriots were quick to sign him.
Already, the move looks genius. In Thursday night’s preseason game between the Patriots and the Jaguars, Carr showed off his hands and athletic ability with one remarkable touchdown grab:

You really can’t watch that enough.
Not to worry. Carr’s grab was caught on multiple cameras, so you can see the outstanding play from multiple angles:

Carr had a breakout season last year, leading the B1G in every major receiving category. He finished the year with 90 receptions for 1,247 yards and 12 touchdowns. In the two years before that, Carr had just 23 catches and two touchdowns.
It was no accident that Carr was the B1G’s leading receiver last year. The Patriots were able to steal an incredible talent after the draft.
Other teams found that out on Thursday night.
