The Wildcats are beginning to gain a bit of momentum against the Cornhuskers.

Northwestern did not get off to a great start against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers opened the game by marching right down the field on offense and finishing off a touchdown drive with a big touchdown by JD Spielman.

Fortunately, the defense has played much better since then and even gave the Wildcats the lead in the second quarter. Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez dropped back for a pass on this play, but he did not have much time at all.

Martinez never saw the pressure coming from the blindside and took a hard hit in the back. He couldn’t hang onto the ball, and Northwestern’s defense scooped up the fumble for an easy touchdown.
