The temperatures always tend to drop drastically this time of year in B1G country. Playing games in cold, windy or snowy elements isn’t uncommon for the 14 teams in the conference.

This time of year, though, you’ll commonly see players breakout the handwarmers and long-sleeve undershirts. Apparently that’s not the case for Northwestern. The B1G West champs are unfazed by the cold climate.

Saturday, Northwestern traveled to Minnesota to take on the Gophers. Prior to kickoff, the Wildcats were on the field in 20 degree temperatures getting loose before kickoff.

Shirtless.

The cold temperatures didn’t seem to bother the players, or the coaches, on the field. Pretty remarkable for a mid-November contest in Minnesota.

Granted, the bitter cold temperatures are nothing new for Northwestern players. Sitting on Lake Michigan, Northwestern’s campus is accustomed to seeing some pretty brutal fall and winter conditions.

Still, you’d think that type of cold would warrant at least a T-shirt.

Northwestern’s warm-up didn’t have a negative impact on the outcome, as the Wildcats posted a 24-14 win over Minnesota to improve to 7-4 on the season.

As long as you win, you can “warm-up” however you’d like.
