Northwestern needs just about everything to go right to pull off an upset against fourth-ranked Penn State. Pat Fitzgerald knows that.
So it’s understandable that the Wildcats head coach was upset when running back Justin Jackson was flagged for a facemask after a 30-yard run. But Fitzgerald wasn’t just mad, he was irate.
Here was his reaction after the whistle.

There could be an Incredible Hulk sighting in Evanston before this one is over.
It’s rare to see an offensive facemask penalty, which adds to the frustration. It’s the type of play Northwestern couldn’t have negated in order to give the Nittany Lions a run for their money.
