A UNLV defender has been ejected from Saturday’s game for a dangerous targeting hit.

The recipient of the hit was Northwestern wide receiver Bennet Skowronek. He was coming across the middle of the field when the defender lowered his head and shoulder as Skowronek was going to the ground.

In terms of targeting, it definitely looks like the correct call was made. It is hard to know the defenders intent, but he definitely made forceful contact to the head and neck area of a defenseless player. Fortunately, it did not appear that Skowronek was injured on the play.
