The PFF College account on Twitter tweeted out about the players that have the highest graded seasons by a B1G QB on Monday. The 3 highest graded seasons by a B1G QB have all gone to quarterbacks from the same university since 2014, and 1 of them has gotten the honor twice.

Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud have both made the list for the highest graded season by a QB from the B1G since 2014. Fields set a new personal best with a 91.5 rating in 2019, before beating his grade the following year in 2020 with a 93.5.  Stroud quickly got his name on the list with the efforts from his 2021 season, earning a 92.2 rating.

Unfortunately for Ohio State, Fields has now gone to the NFL where he currently plays for the Chicago Bears. However, the Buckeyes still have Stroud at the helm for a couple more seasons before he goes to the next level. If Stroud can keep up his production and continue to limit the mistakes, Ohio State’s offense will be in good hands.

Here are the numbers that both Buckeyes QBs put up in those years:

Justin Fields:

  • 2019: 3,273 yards passing, 41 passing touchdowns 3 interceptions
  • 2020: 2,100 yards passing, 22 passing touchdowns 6 interceptions

C.J. Stroud:

  • 2021: 4,435 yards passing, 44 passing touchdowns 6 interceptions
