A 4-star defensive back has delayed his commitment date and will take a little longer to consider the offers he has received.

On Saturday afternoon, Peyton Powell, a 4-star defensive back out of Odessa, Texas and an Ohio State target, announced that he will take some more time to consider his offers and decide where he’d like to play college football. He made the announcement via Twitter.

There weren’t many specific details as to why Powell decided to push back his commitment date, but the situation at Ohio State could be a factor. In addition to the Buckeyes, Powell has received offers from Oklahoma, Texas, TCU and Texas Tech.

In total, Powell has 22 offers, according to 247Sports.

Powell is a 6-foot-2, 182-pound wide receiver and safety and is ranked as the 29th-best athlete in the 2019 recruiting class. He’s also one of the top 50 players out of Texas.

Powell did not mention another potential commitment date in his Twitter message.
