Another 5-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class is considering Ohio State as a potential landing spot. Rare, isn’t it?

Sunday, the Buckeyes were included in the Top 5 for elite offensive lineman Zach Rice. Ohio State is included as a finalist along with Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and Notre Dame. The 5-star offensive tackle announced his list with a post on Twitter:

Rice is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia and has received 35 offers during the recruiting process. The 5-star offensive tackle is ranked as the No. 1 player at his position and the No. 21 overall prospect in the class.

Ohio State was the only B1G program to make the cut, but Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State and Rutgers all extended offers. He also eliminated Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC from consideration.

The Buckeyes currently own the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class. All 11 verbal commits are either 4- or 5-star recruits and six are ranked in the Top 100, per 247Sports.
