5-star QB, Ohio State commit leads HS squad to Texas state title game, celebrates by throwing up 'O-H'
A 2022 Ohio State commit has guided his team to the Texas state championship.
On Saturday, 5-star quarterback and the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class led Southlake Carroll to a victory over Duncanville to punch a ticket to the state championship. Ewers threw for 167 yards and a touchdown and also scored on a 13-yard run in the game.
Ewers completed 11-of-24 pass attempts in the game.
The performance in Saturday’s game is just another remarkable feat for the sophomore quarterback. This season, Ewers has thrown for over 4,000 yards and 46 touchdowns while rushing for nearly 600 yards and 9 scores. He’s only thrown 3 interceptions throughout the season.
Now, he’ll be competing for a state title.
After the game, Ewers celebrated his team’s victory by throwing up the “O-H” to Alabama signee Kendrick Blackshire. The Buckeyes and Crimson Tide are set to go head-to-head in Monday night’s national title bout in Miami.
